How to access OneDrive
All active staff and enrolled students at UNSW have access to 5 TB of storage through Microsoft OneDrive.
- Click this link to log in: https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-au/signin/
- Log in using your UNSW credentials:
- Username: Your zID followed by @ad.unsw.edu.au (e.g., z1234567@ad.unsw.edu.au).
- Password: Your usual UNSW password | passphrase.

- If you can't access OneDrive, check that you are logged in with the correct zID and password, you have a stable internet connection and the file owner still has the data online.
Quick start guides

- Install OneDrive
OneDrive is pre-installed on most Windows 10 devices. If not, download it from the Microsoft website. - Set up OneDrive
- Open the 'Start' menu and search for 'OneDrive'.
- Enter your UNSW email: zID@ad.unsw.edu.au (e.g., z1234567@ad.unsw.edu.au).
- Click 'Sign in' and log in using your zID and password.
- Follow the prompts to complete the setup and choose folders to sync.
- Using OneDrive
- Upload files: Drag files into the OneDrive folder in File Explorer.
- Sync folders: Right-click the OneDrive icon in the system tray, select 'Settings', then choose folders to sync.
- Share files: Right-click any file in your OneDrive, select 'Share', and adjust permissions.

- Press Command + Spacebar to open Spotlight and search for 'OneDrive'.
- Sign in with your zID@ad.unsw.edu.au and follow the setup instructions.
- Choose folders to sync and complete the setup.
- Using OneDrive
- Upload files: Drag files into the OneDrive folder in Finder.
- Sync folders: Use the OneDrive menu bar icon to access settings and select folders to sync.
- Share files: Right-click any file in OneDrive and select 'Share'.

- Using OneDrive
- Upload files: Tap the '+' icon and select files to upload.
- Share files: Press and hold any file, tap 'Share', adjust permissions, and send.

Go to the Office 365 website and log in with your zID@ad.unsw.edu.au. - Access OneDrive
Select 'OneDrive' from the apps list. - Using OneDrive
- Upload files: Click 'Upload' and select files or folders.
- Share files: Select a file, click 'Share', adjust permissions, and send.
- Sign in to Office 365

UNSW Rclone setup
There is no official OneDrive client for Linux from Microsoft. In situations where using OneDrive from a Web Browser is not sufficient then Rclone – a command line tool - can be used from Linux devices.
