So you can easily connect to everything you need from a remote location, follow these steps:

  1. Internet access: Ensure you have a reliable internet connection at home or wherever you can study safely.
  2. Personal devices: If you’re using a personal device, set up and test all required applications before your classes begin.
  3. Necessary equipment: Make sure you have the right devices, such as a laptop, charger, and any other necessary accessories.
  4. Engagement: Talk to your teaching staff about how you will engage with your studies and them while studying from home. Also, discuss with your study colleagues how you will collaborate remotely. UNSW provides tools like Microsoft Teams to facilitate this process.
  5. Student Services: UNSW offers additional student services to support you. For more information, visit the information page.

  1. Take your equipment: Bring your work laptop, charger, headset, and any other necessary accessories with you.
  2. Internet access: Make sure you have a reliable internet connection with enough capacity to support your work.
  3. Personal devices: If using a personal device, set up and test all required applications before working remotely.
  4. Equipment needs: If you don't have a suitable UNSW laptop or other necessary IT equipment, complete the Equipment Request Form. Speak with your Faculty Executive Director, Divisional Head/Director, or equivalent Line Manager before submitting the form.
  5. Team engagement: Plan with your team how to stay engaged while working remotely.
  6. Work setup: Use the Flexible Work Toolkit and the Safe Remote Working Checklist to set up your workspace effectively and safely.

For teaching staff, the PVC (Education) Portfolio has launched a dedicated “Teaching Remotely” SharePoint site to help you transition from face-to-face to online teaching.
