When printing from any student or public Mac or PC on campus, your print job will be sent to all printer’s campus wide. After starting the print job, you must release or collect it from your chosen printer.
Follow the guide below for printing from UNSW PCs:
- Open the file you want to print. From the application, go to File > Print.
- In the print dialogue box, choose either black and white (-BW) or colour (-Colour) for the printer.
- Tap your UNSW ID Card on any printer scanner. Note: Choose a colour-capable printer for colour printing.
- Press 'Print Release' to view your sent documents and their costs.
- Select your document and press 'Print'.
- Press 'Logout' when finished.

Note: Avoid using Apple's Preview app for printing PDF files. Use Adobe Acrobat instead.

- In the print dialogue box, choose either black and white (-BW) or colour (-Colour) for the printer.
- Go to any printer and scan your UNSW ID Card. To print in colour, select a printer that supports colour printing.
- Press 'Print Release' to view your sent documents and their costs.
- Choose the document you want to print, then press 'Print'.
- After printing, press 'Logout'.

- Access the touch screen on the Printer.
- Press the Print Release Station icon.
- Tap your University ID card.
- Enter your 4-digit PIN.
- Select your print job/s.
- Your current balance and the cost of the selected job/s will be displayed.
- Press Print.
- Press OK.

Note: You use one of the public printers to email yourself a copy of what you are scanning.
- Access the touch screen on the Printer.
- Tap your University ID card.
- Enter your 4-digit PIN.
- Press “Scan to Email”.
- Enter the email address you wish to send the document to.
- Place the document face down on the scanner glass (top left corner - portrait orientation) or face up into the document feeder (portrait orientation) if scanning individual A4 sheets".
- Press Start or the Green button.
- Then press Send on the screen.

- Visit wireless printing and log in with your UNSW zID and zPass.
- Select the file(s) you wish to print.
- Once the status of the job is “waiting for release”, go to any printer and scan your UNSW ID Card.
- Select ‘Print Release’ to print your job.

- Access the touch screen on the Printer.
- Press the Print Release Station icon.
- Tap your university ID card.
- Enter your 4-digit PIN.
- Select the ‘Use Copier Function’ option, then ‘Quick Copy’.
- Adjust the appearance of your copied document (e.g., colour or black & white) using the options presented. Once you’re satisfied, select ‘Start’ to begin copying your document.

UNSW Print Centre is available for Thesis Book Printing, Graduation Certificates, business cards, stationery and other special orders. You can drop in directly to UNSW Print Centre, at Level 1 Mathews Building (F23) via gate 11 Botany Street Kensington 2052, call them (02) 9385 3222 or email UNSWPrint@unsw.edu.au to discuss your needs.
Student managed print service
The Student Managed Print Service (MPS) offers black & white and colour printing (A3 & A4) from various computer labs and general access computers campus wide. All you need is your UNSW ID card to access the service, add credit and pay for printing as you go.
When printing, select a print queue from the options below. Depending on your location's printer type, you may find one or more of these queues available:

- COLOUR-PRINTER: For A4/A3 Colour Printing
Wireless printing
To use wireless printing on campus, connect to a UNSW network (WI-FI or fixed) and visit the UNSW Wireless Printing site. Note: This site is accessible only on-campus and won't work on non-UNSW networks.
