Gateway - Years 10-12

NSW secondary schools

We partner with close to 400 secondary schools (known as Gateway partner schools) across greater western Sydney and regional NSW to deliver the GAPP. Gateway schools are identified by taking either:

• the three-year average of Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) for schools across NSW, or
• the three-year average of the proportion of students in the bottom socio-educational advantage (SEA) quartile.

Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program

The GAPP is partially funded by the Commonwealth Government through the Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP). HEPPP provides funding to universities to implement strategies that improve access to undergraduate courses for Indigenous students and students from regional and remote or low socio-economic status (SES) backgrounds. It also aims to improve the retention and completion rates of those students.
