Cultural Inclusion

Celebrating differences to bring unity through diversity.

UNSW is a vibrant, multicultural campus with students and staff from over 120 different nationalities. We believe our cultural diversity is one of our main strengths, as it exposes us to alternative perspectives and experiences in our working, learning and research environments.

We are deeply committed to respect and accept cultural diversity on campus, and in our society. We strive to have a culturally inclusive environment for students and staff so they can participate fully, share who they are, their unique perspectives and create a safe campus, free from harassment, bias or prejudices.

Culturally Inclusive Calendar

The Culturally Inclusive Calendar is a resource to support the UNSW community when planning and scheduling events and meetings. It highlights key religious and cultural dates in Australia that we encourage our Schools and Departments to consider when planning the academic year.

Anti-Racism and Anti-Religious Vilification Policy

UNSW is committed to providing an environment that is free from racial discrimination, harassment and vilification.

World Refugee Day

EDI co-funds the JINA project to support for women from forced migration (including refugee) backgrounds who are pursuing higher education at UNSW.

Cultural Inclusion@UNSW

This 2-hour workshop is available to all UNSW staff to enhance their knowledge and skills to engage respectfully and effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds and strengthen inclusive practices.

Cultural Diversity Teaching Practices

The Cultural Diversity and Inclusive Practice (CDIP) toolkit has been customised for UNSW staff and students to enrich the teaching and learning experiences of all students and staff.

International & Ethno Cultural Collectives

The International & Ethno-Cultural Collectives provide a physical, intellectual and emotional space for inclusion.

Prayer, meditation and reflection spaces

We are leading discussions for designated Interfaith spaces across the University to ensure UNSW students and staff of all faiths will reliably find dedicated spaces to pray and practice their faith.
