How to apply for postgraduate study at UNSW
- Find your program – Use the Degree Finder to explore diplomas, graduate certificates, and master's programs.
- Check your eligibility – Make sure you meet your chosen program's entry requirements and UNSW's English language requirements before you apply.
- Submit your application – Apply directly through the UNSW Applicant Portal. If you need help with your application, visit the FAQ page.
While most UNSW postgraduate programs are applied for through the UNSW Applicant Portal, it's important to note that a small number are processed through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). These include:
- Juris Doctor
- School of Population Health programs
- Master of Teaching (Primary)
- Master of Teaching (Secondary)
To check if your program requires UAC admission, search for your course on the UAC website.

How do I apply?
There are three simple steps to submitting your application.

After you submit your application, you can easily track its progress via the UNSW Applicant Portal. You can also upload any additional documents required. Once you provide all the necessary documentation, it should take between 2 to 3 weeks for UNSW to assess your application.
I have an existing application – how do I access it?
To access your application or offer, log in to the UNSW Applicant Portal using your existing login details. You may be prompted to set a new password on your first login – check your inbox for a reset email, including your junk or spam folder.

We'll notify you of the outcome of your application via email. If your application is successful, you'll receive a full offer or a conditional offer if you need to complete more steps. If you're receiving assistance with your application, your nominated agent will also receive a copy of the email.

If you receive a full offer, you'll also receive an email with a link to your personalised offer page. Your page will guide you through the process of accepting or deferring your offer. For international students, once you have accepted and paid your deposit, you'll receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment (eCoE).

Once enrolment for your degree is available, you can enrol in your degree and courses online at myUNSW.
