Volunteers for research in optometry and vision science are essential to develop new technologies and treatments for eye diseases. Find and participate in clinical trials and research studies happening at UNSWs School of Optometry & Vision Science.

The research study aims to equip first year Optometry and Vision Science students with lifelong financial literacy skills to promote financial wellbeing.
The inclusion criteria is as below:
- Students currently enrolled in the first year of the Bachelor of Vision Science program, and
- Will be attending a financial literacy program session
The Eventbrite registration link for the financial literacy program session can be found here, opens in a new window. All students, even those not joining the research study, can register to attend. Food will be provided at each session.

This multi-part paid study looks at the perception of colour and materials in surfaces presented on a standard monitor. You will be required to make perceptual judgements in 12 x 25 minutes sessions.
Further details are enclosed in the attached Participants Information Statement.
Participants will received $50 AUD on completion of all activities.

Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria
Before you decide to participate in this research study, we need to ensure that it is okay for you to take part. The research study is looking recruit people who meet the following criteria:
- Over 18 years of age
- Good visual acuity without glasses (can use contact lenses)
- No known susceptibility to motion sickness
- No known balance or gait disorders
And does NOT fit to any of the following conditions:
- Women who are pregnant
- People who have balance problems (e.g., vertigo)
- People who suffer from back pain
- People with any neurological disorder
- People who are susceptible to motion sickness
- People who are unwell in their general health

If you are interested, the research project is looking for people who are willing to take part in this research and who are:
- Enrolled in one of the health-related programs, including Medicine, Optometry, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, and other allied health disciplines, at universities in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Canada.

The research study is looking recruit people who meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled in the final stage of the Master of Clinical of Optometry course.
- Practicing optometrists.
- Have access to a desktop or electronic device that can open a PowerPoint presentation.
Participants meeting the following criteria will be excluded from the study:
- Unable to read and comprehend English and give informed consent by signing a record of informed consent.
- Under 18 years old.
- Not a qualified optometrist or final year UNSW Optometry student.

We are looking for:
- Adults between the ages of 18 to 40 years old
- Normal healthy eyes
- Can understand and provide informed consent to participate
- Can comply with the study procedures
You will not be able to participate in the study if you:
- Are under the age of 18 and over the age of 40
- Have any ocular pathology or systemic disease
- Have a history of ocular surgery or ocular trauma
- Do not have a recent history of wearing contact lenses (soft lenses within 1 week or rigid lenses within 4 weeks)
- Have diagnosed dry eye
- A very large spectacle prescription
