The UNSW Optometry Clinic runs a dedicated children’s clinic to cater specifically for infants, young children and primary school-aged children.

We are open to the general public for comprehensive vision and eye health assessments (not just vision screenings). These assessments are performed by final year optometry students under the supervision of experienced optometrists who have post-graduate qualifications in children’s vision.

We are able to examine children of all ages, including pre-verbal or non-verbal children.

We take care of children with developmental delay, amblyopia (poor vision or lazy eye), strabismus (squint or ocular misalignment), learning difficulties, and ocular alignment or focussing disorders. We also see children for general checks where there are no current concerns.
