Tracy Kane
Bio
Tracy has been the Clinic Business Manager at the UNSW Optometry Clinic since 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Science from University of Sydney and is a graduate from Australasian College of Health Service Management Program. Tracy graduated from the UNSW Professional Women in Leadership Program in 2018. Tracy has an extensive background in health management having worked in both the UK and Australian hospital systems. She has been in the optical industry for over 12 years, working as the General Manager of Medibank’s Dental and Eyecare practices for over six years prior to coming to UNSW. As General Manager role she had the primary responsibility for operations and the ongoing transformation of the Dental and Eyecare practices overseeing many strategic business projects. At UNSW, Tracy is responsible for the operational management of the UNSW Optometry Clinic including financial management and marketing. She has a passion for creating environments where efficiencies are gained and where quality and exceptional customer service is paramount. Tracy fosters a collaborative and cohesive environment, leading and developing staff that are now qualified and cross-trained in both the administration and dispensing areas. She has worked as a co-supervisor on Stage 5th research projects and is a member of the School of Optometry and Vision Science Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee and the Work, Health and Safety committee.
