Our industry partners are well-established in their respective industries and are companies where the influences of technology, artificial intelligence and globalisation are predicted to make a substantial impact and affect their future work force.

Industry Partners will host multiple groups of students (4 – 5 students per team) over a 10-week period to work on a genuine business project focusing on the future of work. At least two mentors will be required to meet with the student teams and provide information and feedback.

The course is available for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Participating undergraduate students have satisfactorily completed a minimum 48 units of credit (equal to at least one year of study). Consulting teams will be made up of students from various disciplines including accounting, banking & finance, information systems, actuarial studies, marketing and economics. 

Requirements for the project are defined in consultation with UNSW Business School. Teams are assigned at least two mentors. Mentors commit to at least four hours of engagement over 10 weeks, plus attendance at the project briefing, temporary solution meeting and final presentation.

Students who have Industrial Training as a program requirement are required to undertake 60 days of work-integrated learning.

Defence Trailblazer

The Trailblazer for Recycling and Clean Energy (TRaCE) enables partners in the solar tech, clean energy, green fuels, and circular economy space to engage with UNSW students. The Co-op Program is a strategic initiative between industry and the University aimed at attracting, training, and developing the best young professionals. Sponsors of the scholarship gain early access to UNSW’s highest-achieving students, who can be directly recruited at the end of the program.

Throughout the program, sponsors benefit from having three of UNSW's top students work with them full-time across three industry placements for up to 18 months.
