FAIC vision is to facilitate the building of effective
AI solutions in a FinTech context via a multidisciplinary effort where different experts contribute their expertise from different areas.
It involves a rethink of the traditional methods we currently use to build software as they need to be adapted to become a collaborative effort between multidisciplinary domain experts and software development/data management teams. FAIC will bring together fragmented academic research areas under one roof and act as a facilitator for multidisciplinary teams from both business and computing fields working in agile/flexible ways and contributing new methods and techniques for building and managing AI Systems.

UNSW was a lead participant in the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre (CMCRC) in the early 2000s and has continuously engaged with the financial sector via applied multidisciplinary IT-related research studies.
