UNSW Centre for Transformational Environmental Technologies (CTET)

Over the years, we've successfully used our skills and state-of-the-art technologies to build upon applied research, to help industries solve their problems. We help the water industry design water treatment plants, optimise capital investment and operating costs, develop membrane fouling control protocols, and diagnose failure modes of membranes through our reputated membrane autopsy services.

Diagnosis of failure of water treatment plants

Membranes are increasingly applied in a variety of industries, including water and wastewater treatment, food and beverage production and gas refinement, where high throughput and reliable separation are required.

Process design & optimisation

At CTET, we use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) together with other process simulation tools and advanced experimental characterisation techniques to optimise the design of membrane module and large scale water and wastewater treatment plants for our clients

Consulting & training

The combination of population growth and increasingly stringent effluent quality standards has prompted the need for increased wastewater treatment capacity via upgrades and/or expansion, as well as addressing effluent quality issues for existing wastewater treatment facilities.

Our facilities

UNSW Centre for Transformational Environmental Technologies (CTET) is located at Building 4, 128 Hengtong Road, Yixing, China with a fully furnished office area taking up to 2000 m2. This provides current CTET employees, internship students and visiting fellows from UNSW Sydney with a multifunctional space to work and study.
