At UNSW, Safety is core to all that we do; it is of the greatest importance and our first priority. UNSW is committed to providing staff (including contracted staff), students and visitors/guests a safe and healthy place to work, study, and/or collaborate, regardless of where that activity is undertaken.
To achieve this commitment, we must work together to identify and eliminate physical and psychological safety risks. We want to empower everyone to implement best practices, acting in accordance with relevant legislation and Australian Standards. The Safety Uplift program is designed to support and promote a proactive safety culture, where all UNSW staff and students embrace safety as a personal and UNSW core value.
Speaking up, recognising proactive safety behaviours, and working together to improve continually underpins our performance. Safety is the responsibility of all of us, and together we can achieve our vision and identified priorities for a sustainable and proactive health and safety culture.
We acknowledge that there are already some great safety things happening around our campuses and amongst our people, but safety is not static, and we can always do more.
