In collaboration with Dr Gopi Sundar, Co-chair, IUCN Stork, Ibis and Spoonbill Specialist Group, and Director of SarusScape, we use elemental and stable isotope analysis to examine dietary differences between Brolga (Grus rubicunda) and Sarus crane (Grus antigone) in northern Queensland.
We found that there were dietary differences with regards to their primary food sources, which matched with differences in vegetation composition at preferred habitat sites.
