Student Ambassador Program

Be Inspired, to Inspire!

Our Student Ambassador program gives you the opportunity to actively engage, share and enhance your university experiences with key stakeholders and industry partners. This program provides the participant with an opportunity to contribute to Nura Gili’s engagement events, activities and projects.

If you are passionate about enhancing and sharing your student experience and excited about representing UNSW and Nura Gili, you can register an expression of interest to join the Nura Gili Ambassador program. To be eligible for the yearly program you must be a current, enrolled UNSW Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student with relevant university life experience.

About the role

The role involves working during promotional events on our future students’ recruitment programs, working at Open days and Information days, working at our Winter/Summer school programs, other school and community engagement events, also working during on-campus events such as O-week, NAIDOC, Reconciliation week and providing general assistance at Nura Gili.

  • Participate in promotional events and activities, providing stakeholders with information on university life, education, research and employment opportunities at UNSW.
  • Visit schools with the aim to provide prospective students with degree information and a student’s perspective of university life.
  • Welcome guests and visitors to events or meetings and provide general assistance.
  • Support and provide campus tours for prospective students and visitors whilst providing information about facilities, accommodation, support services and educational experiences.
  • Provide general administrative support e.g., assisting with phone/ email enquiries, workshop and activity development, setting up and packing down stalls, and assisting with basic AV support during events.
  • Actively participate in on-the-job training for relevant duties.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.

While Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity is unique and sacred to every person. All applicants are required to provide proof of their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity and heritage.
