'comprehensive framework of documented principles, policies, processes and technologies to manage information and ensure it is handled responsibly, securely, and in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.'

Information governance at UNSW is governed by the Information Governance Policy. The Policy is supported by the Information Governance Instruction Manual (internal access only). Information governance includes:

  • data governance and management
  • records and information management
  • privacy
  • data breaches
  • research data management
  • the acceptable use of information resources and digital communication platforms/technologies, and
  • the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems or tools
