The UNSW Staff Giving program lets you donate to UNSW initiatives through automated, pre-tax payroll deductions.

UNSW staff giving

As a staff member, you can arrange to donate a specific amount to the cause of your choice every time you get paid. Even a small payment, made weekly or monthly, can add up to a sizeable contribution over time. There are no hidden costs, so every cent of your payroll gift will go directly towards the fund of your choice.

Every gift made by staff members will be matched by UNSW, meaning you’ll make double the impact!

You can't underestimate the value of a scholarship. It's not just the financial assistance that it gives to somebody - it gives them the ability to achieve their potential.

Featured funds

UNSW Gateway supports students who are underrepresented in higher education. The initiative is made up of two parts: the Gateway Admission Pathway and the Gateway Program. Both are designed to maximise your post-high school success and help you get into your dream degree at UNSW.

The Gateway Admission Pathway is for students in Year 12 who attend a Gateway school or live in a low-socioeconomic area based on IRSAD or IEO indexes of SEIFA.

Education is the key to human development. Despite this, First Nations students in Australia are much less likely than their peers to finish high school and go on to university.

Addressing the social justice imperatives of Indigenous Australians is a priority for UNSW. Through the Nura Gili Indigenous Programs Unit, we aim to make sure that First Nations students have the greatest possible opportunity to succeed at university.

Nura Gili is a targeted program that embraces Indigenous knowledge, culture and histories. Students have access to study facilities, tutoring, accommodation and employment support, pastoral services, scholarship advice and support for social and emotional wellbeing.

Nura Gili also runs programs for First Nations high school students to encourage them to think about a university education.

With your help, we can expand the scope and reach of this vital initiative. As a donor to Nura Gili, you will be helping us to attract and support more First Nations students, giving them the opportunity to create positive change in as graduates of, law, medicine, engineering and more.

For students experiencing disadvantage, costs can be a barrier to pursuing and excelling in higher education. The President and Vice-Chancellor’s Equity Scholarship provides financial support for students:

  • from rural or remote areas
  • who are Indigenous Australians
  • from low socio-economic backgrounds
  • with disability
  • experiencing other forms of hardship.

Your support of this scholarship can help to cover essentials like housing, food, textbooks, computers, and transport, so the recipient can focus on their studies and stay on track to graduate.
