Artist statement

‘In the Becoming’ is an installation consisting of 35 semi-transparent layered ink drawings that visualise an abstract body moving through space. Each drawing emulates a still film image with gradual spatial changes transitioning to the next. This set of images was created using a combination of wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and other experimental drawing techniques. Influenced by Deleuzian theory, the artwork expresses the ever-evolving self, challenges identity's primacy, and emphasises the relational processes from which it emerges.
