Nell Bradshaw, ‘Untitled’ 2024. 4:54 mins. Mixed media animation: oil paint, sand, sticks, tape, projector, video, tin foil.

Untitled is an animated video which uses oil paint in a series of animation methods. This project grew from an interest in art aesthetics: handmade aesthetics combined with colonial aesthetics borrowed from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock and artist John Glover. Reflected in the content of the video is how both creating something aesthetic or aestheticizing reality is a tool of colonisation and lives alongside damage and a lack of meaningful action to remedy damage.
