An exploration of punk, textile and girlhood, ‘SHIFT’ is my largest work yet: a triptych of markerand acrylic on found textile depicting the three ages of woman.

Unconventional to most paintings, each work was intuitively created in a matter of hours and in no longer than a day. Naive and personal, the work responds to the practices of painters Jenny Watson and Alex Katz.

‘SHIFT’ is ultimately a work about fun. An undercurrent of cynicism lies in its depiction of the female
experience of aging, but if growing old means you can afford Vivienne Westwood, what’s the matter with that?
