Top academics from more than 10 fields have been named on Clarivate’s 2024 list of Highly Cited Researchers.

UNSW is home to 26 of the world’s most influential academics in their fields, according to the annual Highly Cited Researchers list from Clarivate.

The prestigious list identifies researchers who have demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers over the last decade.

Professor Bronwyn Fox, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research & Enterprise at UNSW, congratulated the University’s researchers for their impact and influence.

“UNSW is incredibly proud of our academics recognised in the 2024 Highly Cited Researchers list. Just one in every 1000 of the world's scientists and social scientists make this list, and the honour is bestowed only on those who have the most significant and broad influence in their respective fields,” she said.

“Special congratulations to the extraordinary individuals recognised in two fields. Scientia Professor Liming Dai has for several years running been acknowledged in both Chemistry and Materials Science. And Scientia Professor Louisa Degenhardt was one of the most highly cited researchers in the fields of Clinical Medicine and Psychiatry and Psychology.

“This year we also welcome new entrants to the list: Professor Xiaojing Hao and Associate Professor Xiuping Jia.”
