UNSW has a bunch of incredible scholarships to ensure that you can reach your full potential and follow your dreams – but with so many scholarships available, it can be a tad overwhelming to work out which ones you are eligible for and what they have to offer. Women in Engineering scholarships
Are you female (or identify as female) and are interested in pursuing engineering? If so, then these are the scholarships for you! UNSW is committed to making engineering a more gender-equal field, and offer a bunch of scholarships to female high-school leavers. Aside from the financial aid (AKA, $) these scholarships provide, you’ll also get the opportunity to develop your professional network with the contacts that your make. All of these scholarships are OPEN NOW and applications close on the 30th of September – so get typing!

Tips & tricks: Talk about YOU and include details of any awesome things you’ve done (sport, work, charity work, personal projects). Try and be as specific as possible about any situations you are describing and how you solved challenges.
Co-op scholarship
Wait what?! You want me to work for my scholarship! Unlike the other scholarships on offer at UNSW, the Co-op combines financial support with 18 months of work placements with an industry sponsor. Getting internships at uni is tough (trust me!) so having guaranteed industrial training is a huge perk! Be warned that the application process for this scholarship is a bit more involved so make sure you get started early.Applications are also OPEN NOW and close on the 30th of September.

Tips & tricks: This scholarship is all about work placements and leadership so make sure you highlight any casual work or volunteering you’ve done during high school. Try and tie in leadership skills to all of your answers. Also, make sure you know exactly why you are applying for that specific discipline of engineering and research the sponsor companies before the interview.
Rural Scholarships
Do you live in a rural area or have for most of your high-school life? Moving away from home can be both challenging and expensive so the Faculty of Engineering offers some scholarships specifically for rural female students!

YOU GOT WHAT?!...99.90! That’s right…this scholarship is for the real brainiacs to recognise their hard work and natural talent. Unlike lots of other scholarships, you don’t need to apply for this one, it will be automatically awarded based on your ATAR. If you don’t fit the brief (and let’s be honest…most of us don’t!) don’t stress because there’s so many other great scholarships out there.
