Overview

Study UNSW’s Master of International Business to become a future business leader. In this postgraduate degree, you’ll gain the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to operate both successfully and ethically within complex global contexts.   

You’ll boost your career opportunities with the choice of a specialisation in either International Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, International Human Resource Management or Societal Impact. UNSW’s Master of International Business is the only Australian postgraduate degree offering a specialisation in International Business, earning you the qualifications to lead multinational businesses.   

As the impact of business grows, you’ll need to make decisions beyond the business landscape – leaders in international business will need to drive business success, while increasingly creating positive impact across natural environments and social justice. In this degree, you’ll develop your global awareness of sociocultural, economic, technological and political differences, while learning to both embrace and leverage this diversity to drive positive impact for all.

Entry requirements


To be eligible for UNSW Business Master’s programs, you’ll need to have a recognised bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) with a credit average (65% or higher) as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator.

Note: No other requirement (such as GMAT, GRE, personal statement or academic referee) is considered unless otherwise specified.  

Admission pathways

Applicants who don’t have a credit average within their bachelor's degree may be assessed on other performance indicators, which may include: 

  • GMAT score of 600 or above. The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is an exam created to measure the academic abilities needed to succeed in graduate management education
  • Completion of other undergraduate, postgraduate or postgraduate research qualifications
  • Professional qualifications completed through relevant professional bodies, for example the Institute of Chartered Accountants or CPA Australia
  • A Graduate Certificate from UNSW Business School with a credit average (65% or higher)

English language requirements

 

You may be asked to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study at UNSW depending on your educational background and citizenship. English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why UNSW requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.

If you’re completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent), you do not need to provide anything extra to prove your proficiency. Your qualification will be used as evidence of your English proficiency.

If you do need to provide evidence of your English proficiency, this will be indicated in your application. You can prove this by providing evidence that you meet one or more of the following criteria:

You’ll learn from leaders in business to gain the most up to date business perspectives. Courses delve into critical skills such as understanding how to leverage global value chains for long-term value creation. Acquire data analytics knowledge and skills to support management decision-making in a range of organisations with a global context. 

You’ll have the opportunity to amplify your knowledge with a Capstone Course, which is a practical experience where you can work on an international business consulting project, a social entrepreneurship project, complete an internship or join an international work integrated learning course. This includes the International Business Consulting Practicum, where you can work with a global host company to put your learnings into practice.
