Interested in applying for university after TAFE? Our TAFE Pathways Program is open to students who have completed an AQF accredited TAFE Diploma or Advanced Diploma - offering Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for several eligible undergraduate degrees. This enables credit transfer from your existing qualification, reducing the amount of time required to complete your degree at UNSW.
Students who have completed a TAFE qualification under the following training packages are eligible for credit transfer into the Bachelor of Design:

To be assessed for entry and be eligible for credit transfer, you’ll need to provide a transcript of your completed TAFE studies as part of your Universities Admission Centre (UAC) application. You can start this application at any time during your studies.
The degrees in our TAFE pathways program have been selected for their alignment with TAFE qualifications and study areas. If your desired degree is not listed, this means it is not currently included in the program.
You may still be eligible to apply to UNSW. Admission to UNSW is based on academic merit. There are a number of eligible qualifications or preparation programs you could pursue to gain an assessable qualification.

No, only Diploma or Advanced Diploma level qualifications are eligible for credit transfer through the TAFE Pathways Program.
If you have completed a Certificate III or IV, you may still be eligible for entry into UNSW. You can refer to the Accepted Qualifications page for more information.
No, only domestic applicants are eligible to be considered for the Program.
If you apply for a listed pathway degree with a related TAFE qualification and have provided a copy of your completed studies transcript through UAC, there should be no issues with receiving an offer if the criterion is met.
