Zhaozhi Zheng has been working on the combination of urban water management and chemical engineering. He has proposed the advanced oxidation process as the post-treatment method for the stormwater harvesting system. Apart from that, he tries to obtain a better understanding of the stormwater characteristics and treatment technologies to provide appropriate recommendations to reduce the associated risk for urban water management. Based on the current knowledge, he is trying to propose a novel treatment chain which is equipped with the nature-based systems (e.g., biofilters, constructed wetlands) and advanced technologies (chemical oxidation) to provide reliable performance for organic chemicals removal in stormwater.
