Dr Wentao Li
BA, MD, PhD (Public Health)
Wentao is a clinical epidemiologist and an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow. He is a Senior Lecturer at the National Perinatal Epidemiology and Statistics Unit (NPESU), Centre for Big Data Research in Health, UNSW and an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Monash University.
Wentao has extensive experience in randomised controlled trials, observational studies, and evidence synthesis (especially individual participant data approach) that produce reliable evidence addressing important clinical questions in reproductive health and obstetrics. His research aims to improve practices by providing credible evidence on diagnosis, prognosis and treatment on conditions in infertility and pregnancy.
Wentao has led many large international collaborative projects including multi-centre randomised trials and individual participant data meta-analysis. He has established extensive international and national collaborative networks involving clinicians, trialists, researchers, and methodologists to bring research to the next level with joint force. He has been closely working with multiple institutions and academic hospitals in Australia, Asia, Europe and South America.
Wentao's research expertise and experience has been recognised internationally. He is currently appointed as methodologic editor for Fertility & Sterility and F&S Reviews - two flagship journals of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and Associate Editor for Human Reproduction Open - journal of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
