Research interest

I quantify new conceptualizations of hydrologic processes and develop methods for model diagnostics and uncertainty analysis (especially via Bayesian statistics and multi-model methods).

Interest in engineering

Why did you get into engineering?

I am very interested in problem solving, especially problems that arise due to management of Australia’s limited natural resources. Water is a fundamental resource, essential for survival, and I am very interested in the dynamics of water resources and how we can forecast water availability.

What are your research goals?

To develop new methods for quantifying available water resources, whether that is by new types of hydrologic models, new analysis of field observations, or better ways of assessing and using existing models.

What do people not understand about you do?

That models can be hugely useful for developing hypotheses about how natural systems will respond to change, but will always have uncertainties associated with them.
