Dr Louis Wang

Louis Wang is an experienced Cardiologist as well as a Staff Specialist in Vascular Medicine, working at St Vincent's Hospital, Liverpool Hospital and Sydney Hospital campuses. He is an educational leader at the St Vincent's Hospital campus in Sydney, where he previously served as the Director of Physician Education (DPE) for three years, and is now an Associate Professor and the Associate Head of St Vincent's & Mater Clinical School at the University of Notre Dame Sydney.
Louis Wang graduated first in his class at the University of New South Wales, and was awarded the University Medal in Medicine and First Class Honours. He also has a PhD for pioneering research in high frequency echocardiography.
His clinical interests include general cardiology, heart failure, anticoagulation, perioperative medicine as well as the management of venous thromboembolism (deep vein thrombosis / pulmonary embolism). He is an experienced researcher in clinical medicine and translational science, and has published in leading high impact cardiovascular and general medicine journals, including The Lancet, Circulation, European Heart Journal, and Medical Journal of Australia.
