Kate Carruthers is teaching at AGSM in the areas of data governance and AI.

Kate Carruthers is a leader in data analytics, AI, and data governance with extensive experience across higher education, large enterprises, startups, and boards. Her career highlights include establishing innovative data governance and business intelligence functions at UNSW Sydney and the successful launch of the Westfield Australia gift card business.

Kate’s expertise spans technology risk management, digital business strategy, and cybersecurity. She has a proven track record in leading transformative initiatives and managing profit and cost centres, evidenced by her successful development of the Westfield Gift Card business. Her leadership is characterised by her ability to foster innovation, advocate for women in technology, and engage diverse stakeholder groups.

In addition to her executive roles, Kate serves on boards and has been a prominent advisor in data analytics and digital transformation. She is a respected public speaker and has contributed significantly to community and professional organisations, including the IEEE and FITT.

Kate holds advanced degrees in management and education, underscoring her commitment to digital transformation and security.
