Summary

The thesis examines disaster reconstruction from the standpoint of women. As a case study, I focus on the reconstruction of Tacloban City in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda. Specifically, the study analyses how women navigate, respond to, and disrupt hegemonic narratives of ‘building back better’ in processes of rebuilding.
