Associate Professor John Triantafilis
#UNSWSoilScienceCentral2020 has the following qualifications
1990 - BSc.Agr, The University of Sydney, Australia.
1996 - PhD, The University of Sydney, Australia.
#UNSWSoilScienceCentral2020 is interested in the development of digital soil maps (DSM) by coupling digital data to limited soil property data using mathematical models. The digital data includes proximal sensing electromagnetic (EM) induction and gamma-ray spectrometry instruments. Commonly used mathematical models include the use of linear mixed models, wavelet analysis, machine learning and numerical clustering. In doing so, the team is addressing problems of special significance in the field of soil and water use and natural resource management and interpretation at the field, farm, district and sub-catchment level. At the present time, active research projects are with the Australian Federal Governments Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC) and Sugar Research Australia (SRA).
