Research Interests:
My main area of research interest is in determining the true effectiveness of surgical interventions. To achieve this, I apply rigorous scientific studies such as randomised trials but also use administrative and registry data or prospective cohort studies when applicable. My research covers surgical outcomes (for all orthopaedic surgery, and surgery in general); the quality of surgical research (publications bias, reporting bias etc); patient satisfaction; clinical trials in orthopaedics; and the effect of compensation on outcome after injury.
