Dr Amit Saha

Amit Saha is a Lecturer in the Kirby Institute for infection and immunity in society, Faculty of Medicine, UNSW. He is a medical epidemiologist, particularly interested in infectious disease surveillance and clinical studies. He has professional experience in a wide range of fields in infectious diseases epidemiology and large field-based clinical studies on enteric vaccines. Before starting at the Kirby Institute, Amit worked as a research scientist at NSW pathology and as an Associate Scientist in the group of Infectious Disease Division at icddr,b.

Amit completed his PhD in public health at UNSW in 2018 and his M.Med (Master of medicine) in 2009 from the University of Sydney. He is currently working in TTANGO2 (Test, Treat and Go 2) trial which will evaluate that the new molecular based point-of-care (POC) STI test is sustainable and the test is a useful strategy for disease control in remote communities and other high prevalence settings.
