In the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject, UNSW Minerals and Energy Resources Engineering has reinforced its position as a global leader.
UNSW Minerals and Mining Engineering (MERE) ranked no. 2 globally and no. 1 in Australia, climbing from last year’s global ranking of third in the world. This marks the discipline’s 9th consecutive year in the global top 10. Meanwhile, UNSW Petroleum Engineering held its rank of no. 10 in the world and no. 2 in Australia.
“This recognition highlights the strength of our programs and, most importantly, the impact of our graduates across the world. At UNSW, we are always evolving to meet the future needs of the resources sector with cutting-edge education and research," said Professor Ismet Canbulat, Head of School.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject, launched in 2011 and published annually, assess institutions based on academic reputation, employer reputation, and research citations. These results reflect UNSW MERE’s ongoing commitment to world-class education, innovative research, and strong industry collaboration, ensuring graduates are equipped to tackle the evolving challenges of the mining and energy sectors.
