From March 16th to 18th, 2025, four members of our group participated in The International Symposium on Sustainable Cokemaking and Ironmaking held in Newcastle, Australia.
This prestigious event brought together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals in the fields of low-carbon and sustainable cokemaking and ironmaking.
The symposium provided a dynamic platform for discussing the latest technological advancements, innovative research, and emerging opportunities in decarbonisation efforts within the iron and steel industry. Attendees engaged in insightful sessions on a wide range of topics, including sustainable fuel alternatives, energy-efficient technologies, and carbon capture and utilisation.
Our group members, Dr Xiaobing Yu, Dr Ziguang Zhao, Mr Ehsan Farajzadeh and Mr Jin Xie had the opportunity to present their own research findings, exchange ideas with international peers, and explore potential collaborative projects that could contribute to the global push for sustainable iron and steel production.
The symposium marked an important step in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, fostering new partnerships aimed at advancing the future of sustainable cokemaking and ironmaking.
