Vicki McNamara joins the Centre for the Future of the Legal Profession

The Centre for the Future of the Legal Profession is pleased to announce the appointment of Vicki McNamara as the Senior Research Associate, a strategic addition to the Centre’s dynamic team.

With a distinguished career spanning over three decades and a diverse background in commercial law firms and in-house legal teams, Vicki brings a wealth of experience that encompasses the intricacies of legal practice and the nuances of business management.

Vicki’s professional journey includes roles at Maddocks, Woolworths Group and Herbert Smith Freehills. Her expertise extends across legal practice, business management and legal operations, making her a key asset to the Centre’s commitment to supporting the legal profession.

In collaboration with the Centre’s Director, Professor Michael Legg, Vicki will lead multiple strategic initiatives designed/ to provide crucial support for legal professionals navigating the complexities of tomorrow’s legal landscape.

Vicki’s expertise includes:

• Knowledge Management framework development
• Knowledge governance and systems
• Knowledge and research service management
• Legal technology acquisition and implementation
• Project management and delivery
• Strategic business planning and execution
• Business process redesign and transformation
• Innovation strategy delivery.

Vicki holds a Bachelor of Economics with Honours (BEc Hons) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Sydney and a Master of Business and Technology (MBT) from UNSW.

‘I am excited and privileged to join the Centre and contribute to research that addresses current legal challenges and develops forward-thinking solutions,’ said Vicki. ‘This role is a culmination of my diverse professional experience to date, and I look forward to working collaboratively with other legal experts and innovators.’

The Centre for the Future of the Legal Profession is led by UNSW Law & Justice and informed by the legal industry to support the profession in effectively navigating the challenges and opportunities presented by technology, innovation, and societal expectations.
