We are delighted to announce that Dr Daisy Shu will be joining UNSW SOVS in August as a Scientia Senior Lecturer. Daisy has been appointed as part of the prestigious "UNSW Scientia Program which has been established as a cornerstone of the UNSW 2025 Strategy, to attract and retain the highest research performers on a trajectory to being exceptional research leaders and mentors."
Daisy comes to us from the Department of Ophthalmology of the Harvard Medical School at Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass Eye and Ear. Her research is focused on understanding the role of mitochondria and metabolism in retinal eye diseases including age-related macular degeneration and proliferative vitreoretinopathy. She is a current recipient of the BrightFocus Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in Macular Degeneration Research.
As an UNSW Alumni who graduated with a BOptom here at UNSW SOVS, we are thrilled to welcome back Daisy to her Alma Mater.
