We are proud to announce that Professor Gary Froyland of UNSW Mathematics and Statistics has been invited to speak at the 10th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM).
ICIAM 2023 is being hosted in a hybrid conference format at Waseda University, Tokyo, which is the largest research university in Japan.
Professor Froyland is delivering an Invited Lecture at the five-day conference. 24 Invited Lectures will feature at the 2023 event.
As the premier international congress in the field of applied mathematics and the flagship conference of ICIAM, it is held every four years and generally boasts several thousand participants.
ICIAM is a worldwide organisation for professional applied mathematics societies, and for other societies with a significant interest in industrial or applied mathematics. It works to advance the applications of mathematics globally.
Professor Froyland joins an exclusive group: he is the second academic from UNSW invited to present at the ICIAM congress. Professor Ian Sloan from the School of Mathematics and Statistics was an invited Plenary Speaker at the 2015 event in Beijing.
It is a considerable honour to be invited to lecture at the conference, which is commonly viewed as the “Olympics” of Industrial and Applied Mathematics. A huge congratulations to Professor Froyland; we wish him all the very best for ICIAM 2023 in Tokyo.
