Simin Yu is currently a PhD candidate at the Centre for Social Research in Health, UNSW, and she is also a registered nurse in China. Her research focus is HIV prevention among gay and bisexual men, particularly key sub-populations including university students and migrants. She has nursing and public health backgrounds. She also has research experience in health policy, including health development assistance among China, Africa countries and Pacific Islands.
