Orla is a PhD candidate who commenced in 2021 at CMSI. She is interested in the effects of human activities in marine ecosystems and assessing potential solutions.
Project: How do habitat modifications impact the functioning of coastal marine ecosystems?
Description: Across my PhD I will assess the impact of human modifications on marine ecosystem function, both directly on human-made structures and in adjacent communities. I also aim to determine the efficacy of solutions to these problems, assessing not only biodiversity, but also key ecosystem functions that underpin important services.
