Mark is an EdD candidate at UNSW researching the experiences of 10- to 13-year-olds in the early stages of owning their first smartphone, and the impact that this has on different aspects of their lives.

Mark has an MA in Education from Oxford Brookes University with a research focus on distributed leadership within schools. He has over thirty years' experience as a teacher and educational leader in both public and independent schools within the UK, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia.

Mark is passionate about ensuring that all children and young people are set up for success in life. He strongly believes that achieving this requires the collaborative focus of parents, schools, and wider communities. He is committed to supporting and championing parents to feel confident, capable, and empowered in what is an increasingly isolating, complex, and challenging world.
