Yi-Ya is a PhD candidate in the School of Built Environment. Prior to joining UNSW in May 2022, she worked as a Senior Project Specialist in a GIS tech firm and had 2-year full-time research assistant experience in the National Taiwan Normal University. She has her Bachelor's degree in Geography, majoring in Region and Tourism Planning and Geospatial Information Science. She took out a Masters degree in Urban Planning. Her recent research focuses on volumetric urbanism, compact city, mixed use, spatial modelling, spatiotemporal data analysis, and 3D land use change.
