Brooke Colledge

I created my acrylic painting, titled Eclosion Explosion, at a time when I was emerging from a difficult period of my life. After going through hardship, I made discoveries about my personal values and developed mental tools that allow me to maintain a positive mindset. I noticed a pronounce change in my character, perhaps reflecting my change from adolescence to young adult. Symbolised through Australian native butterflies delightfully emerging from their cocoons, the excitement and waves of colour reflect the positivity I felt in this moment. Alongside this artwork, I created a video of the creation process that is overlaid with songs that I resonated with at the time.
