About the work

"Get well soon" is often said to someone who is experiencing physical illness or injury, but rarely to those struggling mentally. Though some mental illnesses don't go away permanently, a simple "get well soon" wish can feel like planting flowers into my drained heart. This literal depiction of a human heart with lavender sown into it is a metaphor of how I feel when people tell me "get well soon" after I tell them I am working on my mental health.
