The Schmidt Group makes up part of the Molecular photonics laboratories, opens in a new window at UNSW.
We perform research into fundamental aspects of molecular spectroscopy, with applications in renewable energy, medicine, atmospheric and interstellar chemistry.

ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science
Since January 2017, the Schmidt Group has participated in the UNSW node of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science.
Student opportunities
We are currently seeking PhD and Honours students to join our group. Students who are interested in both chemistry and physics are particularly encouraged. Prospective students should contact Professor Schmidt., opens in a new window
Scholarships
Do you have a first class degree and research publications? You may be competitive for a Postgraduate Research Scholarship., opens in a new window
Postdoctoral opportunities
We always welcome fellowship applicants.
