The Southern Highlands Conference on Heterocyclic Chemistry
29 - 31 August 2021
Sebel Harbourside, Kiama NSW
[Note that this has been rescheduled from 2020, due to the COVID crisis.]
This annual, two full-day residential conference has become a feature of the heterocyclic calendar over the past 30 years. It has been held at one of a select few venues in the beautiful Southern Highlands of New South Wales, south of Sydney. In 2021 the meeting will move slightly to the equally convenient and attractive coastal town of Kiama, NSW. Famous for its Blowhole, this picturesque township is situated 90 minutes by rail from Sydney and offers many local attractions, including the stunning 22 km Kiama coastal pathway walk, options for winery and food tours, the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre and the Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk.
The new Conference venue, the Sebel Harbourside Kiama, comprising the beautifully restored 1871 heritage listed bluestone Infants’ School and the adjacent contemporary waterfront accommodation site, is a popular conference and wedding venue. It offers a high standard of accommodation, fine food and conferencing that provides an ideal setting, for the renowned lively scientific discussion and exchange of the Southern Highlands Conference on Heterocyclic Chemistry. Adequate break time is also allowed in the programme to sample optional off-site excursions or a stroll along the waterfront.
