The Aerodynamics laboratory is a teaching and research laboratory in the aerodynamics of subsonic and supersonic flows. Our work includes aerodynamic testing of aeroplane, ship, train, car and truck models, roof ventilators and wind turbines. We also conduct the calibration of instrumentation such as anemometers and pressure measuring devices. There is a consulting service in all these activities.
The laboratory facilities include five subsonic wind tunnels (one with moving ground facility), one supersonic wind tunnel and a shock tube rig. It also has a wide range of equipment to measure air velocity, pressure, force and flow visualisation.
