The 37th Australasian Finance and Banking Conference (AFBC) is organised by the Institute of Global Finance, UNSW Business School. The Conference will be held on 11th –13th December 2024 (In person only).
The AFBC is the most significant and prestigious finance conference in the Asia-Pacific region. It brings together the world's foremost leaders of thought from the financial community, providing international academics and industry professionals with the opportunity to meet and share their research and interest in finance-related fields. The Conference Committee would like to invite all academics and practitioners to participate.
When and where
- When: Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 December 2024. The PhD Forum will be held on Tuesday 10 December 2024.
- Where: UNSW Business School, Sydney Australia.

PhD Forum
When: Tuesday, 10 December 2024.
The 37th AFBC will include a PhD Forum for advanced Finance Doctoral Students who are currently working on their dissertation.
The one-day forum will offer accepted students the unique opportunity to present their dissertation proposals and have their work discussed by distinguished academics from top business schools in the US, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Throughout the seminar, PhD candidates will receive valuable advice about career development from leading scholars and will discuss recent developments in finance literature with fellow students and faculty members.

The Education Excellence showcase is designed to acknowledge world-class educators in cutting-edge teaching practices and to promote knowledge exchange to better nurture next generation leaders in finance.

AUS$10,000 will be awarded for the best paper in Capital Markets / Mutual Funds / Funds Management.
Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) Prize
AUS$2,000 awarded to the best paper presented on Derivatives.
CFA Institute Prize
AUS$1,500 will be awarded to the best paper in ESG and Sustainability.
Alt Data Tech Prize
US$1,000 will be awarded to the best paper using Alternative Data in their research.
Bureau van Dijk Prizes
AUS$1000 will be awarded to the Best paper in Banking using BVD data.
AUS$1000 will be awarded to the best paper in Corporate Finance / Corporate Governance / Institutional Block Holders using BVD data.
Education Excellence Showcase

AU$1000 Awarded for Best Innovative Teaching Practices.

AU$1000 Awarded for Best Teaching on issues related to Sustainability.
