Dr. Milita Zaheed is a medical oncologist with specialized training in cancer genetics. She completed her medical oncology training at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Concord Hospital and cancer genetics training at Prince of Wales Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in cancer genetics with the Garvan Institute, focusing on enhancing current existing mechanisms of identifying patients and families who may carry a genetic predisposition to develop cancers and identify genetic susceptibilities to developing rarer cancers. Dr. Zaheed's expertise extends to the identification of patients who may unknowingly carry an unrecognized germline pathogenic variant through tumour profiling results conducted for therapeutic reasons.
