“Rethink, Reevaluate, Redo? Navigating recruitment and retention challenges in the legal profession”
In May, the Centre for the Future of the Legal Profession hosted its inaugural invite-only Think Tank workshop concentrating on recruitment and retention within law firms.
Participants from leading law firms engaged in idea-generating activities designed to think beyond the survey response to the core issues.
The workshop was structure into three sessions:
Session 1: Current state of play
This session encouraged participants to examine the balance between recruitment and retention, exploring why some lawyers transition or leave roles while others remain.
Session 2: Impact
Participants reflected on the short- and long-term effects of retention challenges, identifying and evaluating effective retention strategies.
Session 3: Mitigation
This session focused on potential solutions, considering both immediate and long-term approaches.
The Centre is currently compiling a report on the Think Tank’s findings, which will be distributed exclusively to attendees. A high-level summary will be made available to the public.
